The status box at the bottom of the MacPing window shows the percentage of probe packets which failed to receive responses. These drops may occur because the probe failed to reach the target, or because the response failed to return to the testing machine.
Percent dropped is the average percentage for all the devices under test, whether one or many are selected.
Clicking on Percent dropped resets (to zero) the percentages of the selected devices (or all devices, if none are selected).
